How I can support your health
I work with a range of different health concerns in men, women and children.
Digestive health
Bloating, wind, reflux, indigestion, stomach and bowel pain, irregular motions, IBS, constipation, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and diverticulitis all bring people here. Digestion is where the rest of the body gets what it needs, so when it is not working well the effects usually turn up somewhere else too. I go through your diet in detail, look at the whole picture, and we work from there.
Food intolerance
Bloated, tired or generally not right after eating, and unable to say which food is doing it? Food intolerance is common, and the food behind it is usually something eaten most days without a second thought. Testing narrows the field quickly and nothing about it is invasive. From there we change your diet on purpose rather than by cutting things out and hoping.
Immune support
Your immune system can be worn down by stress, a change of season, an autoimmune condition, exposure to a bug, or simply not getting the nutrients it needs. I use herbal medicine and nutrition to support it, and to look after the digestive tract alongside it, because a great deal of immune function sits there. Seasonal allergies come under this as well.
Stress and anxiety
Mental, physical and emotional stress is part of most people’s week, and left alone it has a way of turning into other things. Everyone handles it differently, so there is no standard plan here. If what you want is help building your resilience and adapting to what your life is actually asking of you, that is the work we would do together.
Sleep
Trouble getting to sleep, waking at three in the morning, and sleeping the whole night but still waking tired are three different problems, and they usually have different things behind them. We go through your evenings, your stress, your caffeine, your iron and thyroid levels and anything else that might be keeping you up, then work on the one that fits.
Thyroid and hormones
Thyroid problems are becoming more common, and they bring a tiredness that is hard to explain to anyone who has not had it. I work with both an overactive and an underactive thyroid, using herbal and nutritional medicine chosen for how yours is presenting rather than for the label on it. Hormonal patterns through the month or through menopause come under this too.
Energy and fatigue
Being tired all the time is one of the most common reasons people come to see me, and it is rarely one thing on its own. Iron, thyroid function, blood sugar, sleep, stress and digestion all feed into it, and the only way to know which of them matters for you is to look at them. Where a laboratory test would answer it, I will say so.
Weight and fitness
A healthy weight matters for a great deal more than how you look, and so does being fit enough for the life you want to have. Whether that is a few kilos or training for something, the plan is built around your habits, your week and whatever else is going on with your health. It has to survive a busy week, or it is the wrong plan.
Children's health
Allergies, food intolerance, eczema, psoriasis, tummy pain, irregular bowels, poor concentration and low energy are what I see most often in children. Every baby and child is assessed on their own, gently, to work out what their nutrition is missing and where they need support. Nothing I use with a child is chosen without their age and their size being the first thing I think about.
Fertility and pregnancy
Planning a family is a good moment to get both of you as well as you can be, rather than only the person who will be pregnant. I can work with you before conception, through the pregnancy and afterwards, breastfeeding included. Anything I use during a pregnancy is checked for safety at that stage first, and I will refer you on where that is the right call.
Skin
Eczema, psoriasis, acne and hives are all uncomfortable and all very visible, which is its own kind of wearing. Skin often reflects what is happening elsewhere, so as well as the skin itself we look at digestion, stress, sleep and what you are eating. It is usually slower work than people hope, and I would rather say that at the start than at the end.
Allergies
Hay fever, seasonal allergies, reactions to dust or to animals, and the food reactions that sit alongside them. The work is supporting how your body is responding rather than promising the trigger away, and finding out whether anything in your diet or your digestion is making that response harder than it needs to be. Testing helps where the trigger is not obvious.
This is not a complete list. If what is bothering you is not on it, call or send a message and ask - if naturopathy is not the right answer for it, I will tell you that too.
Your health journey starts here
Initial consultations are one hour, where I can analyse blood test results, medications, supplements and nutrition, and start your health assessment.
